The Host MOVIE TRAILER!

The Host is a book by Stephenie Meyer. You can see my review for the book here. It's being adapted for the big screen and the trailer is out!

I am not happy with the guy they've chosen to play Ian!

This guy is not IAN! I am Team Ian  but I do not support their choice!

The girl they've chosen looks more like Wanderer and less like Melanie (If you've read the book you'll know what I mean ,I HOPE) Melanie is supposed to look tough and be as hard as nails .The actress looks very fragile.

I'm happy with their choice for Jared.

Just hope that he can act.

I really enjoyed the book and I hope the movie lives upto the book.

About the book
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

So loads of  books are being adapted for movies! That makes me one happy camper :)

Feel free to comment peeps

Perfect Scoundrels (Heist Society #3)

Hale the fifth were born to lead completely different lives: Kat comes from a long, proud line of lovable criminal masterminds, while Hale is the scion of one of the most seemingly perfect dynasties in the world. No matter the risk, the Bishops can always be counted on, but in Hale’s family, all bets are off when money is on the line. When Hale unexpectedly inherits his grandmother’s billion dollar corporation, he quickly learns that there’s no place for Kat and their old heists in his new role. But Kat won’t let him go that easily, especially after she gets tipped off that his grandmother’s will might have been altered in an elaborate con to steal the company’s fortune. So instead of being the heir-this time, Hale might be the mark.

Forced to keep a level head as she and her crew fight for one of their own, Kat comes up with an ambitious and far-reaching plan that only the Bishop family would dare attempt. To pull it off, Kat is prepared to do the impossible, but first, she has to decide if she’s willing to save her boyfriend’s company if it means losing the boy.

Review: Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1)

Meet Celaena Sardothien.
Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.

In the dark, filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen-year-old girl is serving a life sentence. She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake: she got caught.

Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament—fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her assassin’s heart be melted?

Source: Publisher for an honest review (Thanks Bloomsbury! )

My Thoughts:
I had very high expectations from this novel. As soon as I saw the blurb I started freaking out because it's about a FEMALE ASSASSIN and it was YA!

I thought the girl would be kicking @$$ throughout the novel
What I thought the book  would be full of...
SOURC: GIF SOUP

The girl would also have swords and be able to do worse with those.

The book does have some of that but unfortunately (according to me) for the majority of the book the girl is regaining her strength and I for one wasn't impressed by her.I never thought an assassin would be so vain and humane. Basically the author tries to make you sympathize and empathize with the main character.I would have preferred if the author would have let the assassin be a bad @$$ and not tried to make her humane but that's just my perspective.

The story
The story is interesting and manages to keep you engaged. The first few chapters are a little slow but the last 10 to 15 chapters are amazing and worth a read. Most of the story is from Celaena's point of view but there are some scenes from the male's point of view too.(i.e Captain Westfall and the Crown Prince). Thankfully the changes in the point of view are not confusing and help add flavor to the novel.

The world that is introduced is an interesting one and the story manages to surprise the reader.

The characters

My favorite character in this novel is the King.Yes, I like the villain because he's mysterious and I want to know more about what he has done to the kingdom. Usually villains don't really interest me but I'm very interested in knowing what the King will do next.

I want to know more about Celaena's past and apparently various novellas are available so I might give them a gander.

The love interests need more development in my opinion. semi SPOILER(if you don' know who the love interests are this is a spoiler) especially Captain Westfall. SPOILER ENDS

Basically I wanted more from this novel.More action, more @$$ kicking  and more background.

That doesn't mean that the book isn't good. If you've been looking for a book like Poison Study i.e a book with kings, assassins, fantasy, competition, a fight to the death and paranormal element this is the book for you.

I think the sequel definitely holds the potential to be truly great as the buildup for the sequel is good.

Overall, an interesting addition to the YA genre.I hope more books like this come out in the future that can live upto my high expectations.

 My Rating:
3 /5

Note: This book is by a 2012 Debut author.

Review: Deity by Jennifer Armentrout

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

Note: Younger Readers strongly cautioned.

apologize in advance for the fact that this review may make no sense and might be lengthier than my usual reviews.

GREAT PAINS HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO KEEP THIS REVIEW SPOILER FREE .

My Thoughts:
I finished reading this book AGES AGO and I've been meaning to write a review for a long time but I just couldn't get in the zone and write an amazing review for this one because I HAVE NO WORDS to describe the AWESOMENESS that is this book!

I've been a little (ok maybe very) disappointed with quite a few Jennifer Armentrout novels like Pure and Cursed but this book reminded me why I'm in love with this author.Jennifer does not hesitate to shock and surprise you with surprising new developments and new characters. The game has changed people!

The stakes are higher, emotions run wild (*cough* Aiden *cough*) and people die.

I was losing interest in this series after Pure (book #2 ) and was seriously reconsidering buying this book when I got it for review. All I can say is thank you dear publishers! I might have missed out on this awesome book if not for you.

This book was as good if not BETTER than Half Blood (Book #1). On second thoughts it was MUCH MUCH  better because I couldn't predict anything! I don't want to spoil it for you guys and I won't even though I want to gush about EVERYTHING!

Aiden was amazing in this novel. His character changes a little and I'm loving the change.

Alex is her usual awesome self.I have no complaints except that she needs to *SEE* some things clearly.[My Lips are now sealed]

Seth ,Oh Seth! I have no words.

I also loved the secondary characters in this novel.Special shout out to Marcus,Deacon,Lea and Leon. There are some others but I promised NO SPOILERS.

The story flows so well and Jen delivers sucker punch after sucker punch until you're numb with shock or excitement but still feel shivers when you get a new hit.

This book is a gamechanger. A lot of things like enemies, acquaintances, relationships, scenarios change,

It's been a long time since I've rated a book 5 stars.This book deserves a 5 and much more.
DEFINITELY WORTH A READ!

Is it too soon to start demanding a sequel?

My Rating:
                              5/5

                      NEED TO READ!

FYI: (For your information)

  1. The book ends with a cliffhanger
  2. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN TEAM AIDEN!
  3. A novella called Elixir continues the story and should be read ONLY AFTER THIS BOOK! It has already been released and is available for free download on the spencer hill website

City of Bones Movie Freakout POST!

So City of Bones the novel by Cassandra Clare is being adapted for the big screen and the trailer just came out recently!
Check it out!

So I'm not a huge fan of the guy they've chosen to play Jace,,, but if he acts well. ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN!

I'm more in love with the poster of this movie

SO PRETTY!!!

Part of the animated poster

Never heard of the books?
blurb
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

In other news.... I've heard there's actually an epic fight scene in Breaking Dawn part 2. IS THIS TRUE? Well I'll just have to wait to find out.
If there is I WILL DEFINITELY BE WATCHING IT!

FYI: Trailer of The Host (book by Stephenie Meyer) , Warm Bodies, Beautiful Creatures is out.I might make a post regarding that later

Review: Unspoken

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the-Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

My Thoughts:

I would NEVER have picked up this novel if Aditi hadn't highly recommended it and told me that it was funny. The blurb screams
"INSTA-LOVE/OBSESSION"

Thank you so much ADITI!
This .gif is dedicated to Aditi
This book needs a better blurb.
There is no insta-love or obsession and this book is very funny.

The star of this novel is the female protagonist. She's so funny and sarcastic. The best thing about her is the fact that her reactions to the paranormal are normal. When she finds out that the guy she thought was in her head is real .She's horrified. (SEE NORMAL REACTION! )
Kami's quick wit and commentary makes this novel worth a read and makes this book stand out from other paranormal novels.I love Kami.

There are some scenes from Jared's point of view as well.I thought Jared was ok. I'm not a huge fan but I don't hate him. He's an intense bad guy and seemed a little stereotypical.

Frankly for the majority of the novel , the plot doesn't make an impact and I for one was so entertained with the narrative that I didn't even notice that nothing much happens for most of the novel till the last few chapters.

The secondary characters especially Cami's friends leave an impact and I really enjoyed getting to know them.

Sarah Rees Brennan is on my radar now and I'll definitely be checking out more of her novels as I love her writing style. It's fresh, funny, sarcastic and entertaining.

The worst part about this novel is the ending.
WHAT KIND OF AN ENDING IS THAT,MS. BRENNAN?? I NEED AN EXPLANATION!

I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel.

Word of advice: The hardcover is quite expensive( Highly discounted on Amazon though) so wait for the paperback or borrow from the library, but don't miss out on this one.

My Rating:
4/5

Great Fun!

Teasers from Deity!

BLURB:
"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Today I'm posting some of my favorite quotes from the book!I noted the page numbers down as I was reading the book!
Please keep in mind that the quotes are from the ARC and changes might be there in the final edition.

Tried to keep out spoilers so no steamy scenes!

"It's not an insult,"he said softly."It's just who you are.You don't stop to think of the danger, only what is right. But sometimes it's not right."
I mulled that over."Was using compulsion on Dawn and the other pure a knee jerk reaction?"
He took what seemed like forever to answer."It was,it wasn't the smartest thing to do,but I couldn't do anything else."
"Why?"
Aiden didn't answer.
Pg. 16

"What did he say to you?"
"I don't think you want to know.it was one of the only times I've heard Marcus cuss."

"All of this is your fault anyway."
Seth snorted."How is it my fault?"
I scowled."No one wants to kill you,but you're the one who'll have the potential to wipe out the entire   Olympian court. But everyone is like,'Let's kill the one who isn't doing anything!' And you can just skip off into the sunset while I'm dead."
His lips twitched again."I wouldn't skip off if you were dead.I'd be sad."

"That's really cool that Deacon is studying and all."
Aiden took the seat beside me,turning so his knee pressed against mine and he was facing me."Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Do I look stupid?"
"Uh,is this a trick question?"
"You can't say that my life is more important than yours. That's not right."
"But your life is more important to me."

There was no way Seth could be falling for this ass-kissery of epic levels. It was so obvious from the way Lucian simpered and cooed. It was blatant, but by the gods,Seth looked like he'd just been handed a million dollars and been told he could spend it all on girls and liquor.

"He actually punched me when he figured it out."
I stared."What?"
He chuckled under his breath."Yeah, he punched me right in the face when he got  back from Nashville-twice."
